Will Weeds and Dips
Show Up in a Few Years?
Not if the base is right. Those are the two things people ask us about before they sign anything: weeds pushing up through the joints, and low spots forming in the driveway or patio a few years down the road. Both are fair questions. Neither one is a paver problem.
Three things prevent it. All three happen on every job we do. The base gets compacted properly before a single paver goes down. Joints get polymeric bonding sand, which locks the pavers to each other and leaves weeds nothing to root into. Then we seal the surface, and we recommend resealing every two to three years to keep it that way.
Skip any one of those and you get exactly the problems people warned you about. Do all three and a paver driveway holds its shape. The failed installations we get called out to repair almost always trace back to how the job was built, not to the material itself. None of that is visible on the day the truck pulls away, which is why it is worth asking about before you sign.
